Guide to Glasgow: a city full of surprises.

I'd been to Scotland a few times. I say Scotland but really I mean Edinburgh and a little town about an hour north of there. Now, don't get me wrong, I love the magic of Edinburgh, its proximity to the sea, the amazing views from Arthur's seat and its cobbled little streets but it was about time to visit the "real" Scotland...Glasgow. I'd heard it was grittier, less touristy and although had a "rough" reputation in the past, parts had recently become quite "cool". So I was basically expecting a Scottish version of East London on the cusp of gentrification. Yes, there were definitely some "hipster" vibes going on but I was surprised by how many other things the city has going for it. And I don't mean that in bad way - I just had no idea because no-one had told me! So now I'm telling you because Glasgow should definitely be on your list for 2018. Art Galleries & Museums Now, I'm not saying I thought Gla...

How live in London on Budget AND still have Fun.

Like many of the naive, new graduates before me, I was lured in by the bright lights of the big city and the promise of never-ending fun and excitement. Something that is very difficult to resist when you grew up in a small boring village in the South East of England. The buzz of London got me every time. That feeling of things happen here, important things, things that could change the world. Ok that one might be a little bit too far - but essentially little by little I came to the conclusion that one day I would live here. ^ Don't get slides like this in Berkshire! And now I do. Literally living the (childhood) dream and it's great! Naturally a restless person, which means I can't stay in the house for more than a day or in the country for more than a couple of months, London it turns out is THE perfect place. And no-one judges my refusal to drink anything other than an artisan Flat White or my o...

7 Reasons to Visit Sofia: Eastern Europe's Most Underrated City

Many hours of sky-scanner later, navigating complicated logistics (one of us was flying from Scotland) and my specific criteria of being somewhere new and "really cheap when we get there" left us with no other choice but to take our next girls' holiday to... BULGARIA ! No, not the Sunny Beach kind of Bulgaria (those days are long gone my friends) but the classy and cultural, capital city Sofia. I'll admit, it was a bit left field, even for me and I love exploring eastern Europe but I'd heard it was deliciously cheap and it looked pretty on Instagram and as we all know, what are holidays for if not for the 'gram. So we thought why not and booked some super cheap flights with good old Ryan Air. (our love-hate relationship continues). £63 for flights later and £48 for 4 nights in an amazing Airbnb in the centre of town and we were already winning. But the fun doesn't stop there. Turns out Sofia is actually a beautiful city in itself, quaint sq...
